We make cases for recent Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phones.

See a list of all of the current device types we make cases for at: carved.com/collections/phone-cases

We wish we could make cases for every device type! Being a small business, we are unable to offer cases for devices that aren’t listed on our site, but we’re always experimenting + working on new projects, so please feel free to follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/carved) where we announce the launch of new products and device types!

","what-are-your-phone-cases-made-of","z9zi1sx25y","What are your phone cases made of?","

Our Traveler Phone Cases are made out of a few different materials including thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polycarbonate, wood burl and epoxy resin. The TPU gives it protection from impacts and drops, the wood burl and resin adds the beauty. Most of our recent cases may also include a MagSafe magnet embedded inside them.

Our Live Edge Phone Cases are made from a combination of wood burls and epoxy resin. We use a couple different resin types to give them strength but maintain flexibility so they can be easily put on and off your phone. Our recent Live Edge cases will also incldue an embedded MagSafe magnet.

","is-your-wood-ethically-sourced","qw60guni34","Is your wood ethically sourced?","2021-02-15","

We specifically use wood burls for our products. The most common types of burls we use are maple and buckeye burls. Burls are the gnarly growths and deformities on trees. You may hear them described as "tumors" or "warts" on trees. They can be in the ground as root burls, at the base of the tree, or even sticking off the tree halfway up. We take these deformities and see something incredible inside of them. Working with each piece is like opening a birthday present, every day!

We buy our burls directly from the people who harvest and collect them. We work with only a few suppliers to ensure that the burls we are using have been responsibly harvested, never from illegal areas and never from endangered species.

All of our items are one of a kind, and they’re made to order. For our Wood+Resin items, we hand-cut slices from a brick of wood+resin and then we scan each slice into our system, which allows you to preview how each slice looks on various devices. As soon as an order is placed, the slice is removed from our website and then it is cut down to fit the device that was chosen.

What you see is exactly what you’ll get. The images you see in our advertisements are real items that customers have purchased from us, and due to their nature, we cannot replicate them. But that’s also what makes them so awesome! Imagine having an item you use everyday that is so unique, no one else will ever have the same one. Pretty cool, right? We update our Wood+Resin pages several times a day with new options, so keep checking back in, and you may find another slice that you love even more!

","how-can-i-upkeep-my-case-wallet-bracelet","ti6tp6ipth","How can I upkeep my case/wallet/bracelet?","2024-10-11","

We add a sealant to each piece we make to keep water and moisture out. This means you don't have to worry about the upkeep too much.

If you want to shine it up a bit, any refreshing or wood oil should do the job. We recommend not using oils with polyurethane in them unless you really know what you are doing. Butcher Block oil, mineral oil and most other natural wood oils will work perfect.

Your product will have a smooth, natural feel to it. Your case may change over time due to the wood’s natural characteristics. Our sealant does a great job adding a high level of water resistance to the wood inlay but for the best life, try to keep it dry. If it gets wet, just wipe it dry. The biggest risk comes from leaving water sitting on it without wiping it off.

Our Traveler Cases, Pocket Knives, Wireless Chargers, Bracelets and Wallets will resist water for a long time.

Our Live Edge cases will be a bit more susceptible to moisture because they use a lot more wood. We suggest keeping your Live Edge case away from water and high levels of humidity - it IS made from real wood, after all!

","how-can-i-tighten-and-loosen-my-bracelet","i74hjz5v6w","How can I tighten and loosen my bracelet?","

We could try to explain it to you verbally, but we’ve found that visuals tend to work best… so here’s a video from our very own Alex showing you how to tighten + loosen it all by yourself, because you’re a strong, independent person who doesn’t need any help! (But if you do, please let us know and we’ll see what we can do to help you out. We’re all about empowerment but asking for help when needed is also pretty important.)

This video shows all three of our current bracelet designs:

Classic (Rectangle) bracelet

Hex bracelet

Circle bracelet

","do-you-accept-custom-orders-for-cases-or-other-projects","gntv5wpn44","Do you accept custom orders for cases or other projects?","

Due to our internal capabilities, we are not able to accept custom orders. This includes making cases for device types not listed on our website, custom products and projects.

All of our products we do offer can be purchased directly through our website. We update our Wood+Resin selection several times a day with new options, so if you don’t see anything you love right now, check back in! :)

","are-your-phone-cases-protective","hrcjitv4q2","Are your phone cases protective?","2023-03-15","

Our Traveler cases (our most popular!) are designed to be slim and unobtrusive. They provide a good level of protection without sacrificing style or adding weight. While many customers find that they provide adequate protection when it comes to minor accidental drops and bumps, we cannot guarantee the protection of your phone in all circumstances.

Our Live Edge cases are made fully from a brick of wood + resin. They are beautiful works of art that are completely unique. We make them in small batches and typically do one small release each weekday.

","are-your-bracelets-waterproof","5jysyhbg2f","Are your bracelets waterproof?","

We would say our bracelets are water resistant - they are fine to wear during normal activities like washing the dishes, exercising or taking a shower, but if you will be in water for extended periods of time (like swimming), we suggest taking the bracelet off, just to be safe!

Yep! All of our cases are compatible with wireless charging, so no need to remove it! Our cases measure 2-3mm at the thickest, and you tend to run into issues with wireless charging when the case is over 6mm.
